Sterling Granite Ltd. was founded in 2007 by Sid Goebel. Sid was introduced to the stone industy by his father in British Columbia and apprenticed under him for a number of years before bringing his knowlegdge home to Winnipeg and opening a shop of his own. In the early days Sid was no stranger to garage fabrication and had to rely on his hands on skills and ingenuity to get the job done. In the years since, the company has expanded into a 3 way partnership and moved from garage into a 4000+ square foot facility with offices and showroom. Sid’s creativity and stone fabrication skills are second to none.
A Carpenter by trade, Dan began his career working with a Winnipeg based General Contracting Company. After 8 years in the field he began to branch out and take on some projects of his own. In 2013 he opened his own contracting company and spent the next 3 years doing renovations in Winnipeg and surrounding area. This is where Sid and Dan met and began to form a business relationship together. Dan joined Sterling Granite in 2016 and handles scheduling, processes and procedures.
A Red Seal Mason by trade, Colin started out working with stone as a brick layer with a Winnipeg based masonary company. “Once again I cannot thank you enough for the stellar job you did installing our granite countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms. The eagle white is stunning – all the “rock and roll” we wished for and then some. Your phenomenal work ethic, team work, attention to detail and knowledge of the natural stone are attributes that make you outstanding in the industry.
A neighbour told us that our kitchen should be featured in LOW magazine!”
